Alone In Venice - Drama Short
Based on the writing of Colm Tóibín, adapted by Robbie Fraser, directed by Lars Blumers and staring Denis O’Hare the film is a poetic look at pandemic through the ages. It is a co-production between Terminal Loudpictures and Dulcimer Films.
This 25m drama short was a joy to compose for and features the wonderful string playing of Aaron McGregor and Alice Allen.
The film, shot at the height of the COVID pandemic in 2021, will now receive its World Premiere in the beautiful Espace Jacques-Tati in the arthouse Le Champo cinema in Paris on March 6th.
This is the wonderful Alice Allen recording cello, which provided the perfect bed of sound for Aaron McGregor’sbeautiful viola and violin lines to sit on. Alice performs here on her English Preston school cello made circa. 1780, made not long after Vivaldi and his baroque contemporaries walked the streets (and sailed canals) of the city in which the film is set. I love to think of the rooms this instrument has played in down the centuries.
