The Secret Of Me - Feature Documentary

I have just completed the score for documentary feature The Secret of Me directed by Grace Hughes-Hallett (Three Identical Strangers) and produced by Rogan Productions, Film 4, Channel 4 and Screen Scotland. It wil be distributed by Dogwoof.

We are so delighted that the film will now receive it’s World Premiere at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas where it is in competition for Best Documentary Feature. There are screenings from the 9th to 12th of March.

The soundtrack itself is a melange of warped tape textures, electronics, piano and strings. Huge thanks to the wonderful string quartet of Patsy Reid, Kirsty Orton, Rhoslyn Lawton and Alice Allan who helped bring the score to life and to Kevin Burleigh and the team at Gorbals Sound.

The film will also receive it’s European Premiere in March at the  Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival in Greece.

The soundtrack will come out on Redrocca, the soundtrack arm of Peermusic later in 2025.

Synopsis: It’s 1995 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During a feminist studies class, college student Kristi opens her textbook to discover something that turns her world upside down. For as long as she can remember, Kristi has felt different- now she knows why. Demanding her medical records, Kristi is finally confronted with the devastating truth: she has been lied to all her life by those she trusted the most. What follows is the unearthing of an extraordinary and disturbing secret that goes far beyond her own life, leading to the discovery of a psychology experiment on a pair of twins – once hailed as a revolutionary success but now revealed to be a terrible lie affecting thousands around the world.

It is a vital story and one that take on even more meaning in Trump’s 2025 America.
